“Wine and Waterglasses: Celebrations of Saint Andrew’s Day in Montreal in the 19th Century” WHERE: Atwater Library, 1200 Atwater Avenue (at Tupper) – Métro Atwater WHEN: Friday, November 30th, 2007 at 12:30 pm FREE ADMISSION – EVERYONE WELCOME REFRESHMENTS: Coffee will be served and members of the audience are welcome to bring their own lunch. PROGRAM: Heather McNabb will describe how Saint Andrew's Day was celebrated in Montreal in the past, particularly in the 19th century, when the Scots played a big role in the commercial, political, and social life of the city. There will also be a display of books from the Atwater Library specialty Scottish collection that has been developed with funding from the St. Andrew’s Society of Montreal. |
