Sarah McLachlan performs at Rogers Place on July 1.

There will be no lack of Canada Day activities in the downtown core to check out this year, including the usual festivities in Churchill Square. Rogers Place will be overrun with Canada Day activities all through the day, boasting a family street festival by the arena that features live performances, food market and community booths, an honoring ceremony and more, all free and starting at noon. It all culminates in a performance by Sarah McLachlan in Rogers Place itself, with local folk sensation Martin Kerr opening as well as appearances by Edmonton’s Firefly Theatre.
